Many inmates are estranged from their families and lonely. We write letters of encouragement and share prayer requests using “pen names” and the parish office as our mailing address.
One current Saint Raphael volunteer says, “I wasn’t sure if I could carry this off, but I have found it to be such a meaningful experience.”
For more information, call our coordinator, Anne Straitiff or the diocesan ministry leader, George Scherma at (440) 465-8944. A phone conversation with one of us can get you started.
He has sent me to bring glad tidings to the lowly, to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and release to the prisoners (Isaiah 61: 1)
